What is worship like at HSBC?

Worship at HSBC is a blended celebration.  Blended worship in the sense that HSBC attempts to not only combine hymns with modern praise music but to intergrate non-traditional elements into the worship.  HSBC utilizes the church calendar celebrating Advent, Epiphany, Season of Sacrifice (Lent) and Holy Week.  The blending of modern, traditional and ancient worship makes HSBC a truly unique Southern Baptist Church in this area of Ohio.

Pastor Phil preaches mostly expository sermons.  However, these sermons are very conversational in style.  He seeks to have the congregation join him in the message.  It is not unusual for him and the congregation to dialogue throughout the message.   He uses the English Standard Version of the Bible.

People often wonder what they should wear to HSBC.  Dress is casual.  Feel free to wear a tie, but you may be the only one.  So come to worship at HSBC with a heart that is ready to celebrate God's grace, a mind that is open and ready to be challenged by God's Word, and with anticipation of being surrounded by loving fellow believers.
